I have a bunch of posts in draft and lots of updates I want to make on the site.
Unfortunately, we had thunderstorm on Tuesday (April 6) and it knocked out my internet. We are waiting for someone to come around fix it but there was another storm in the area on Thursday and they also need to check all their main towers. (I live in a rural area and have wireless, line-of-sight, internet. It is also a bit finicky on windy days.)
I can still check e-mail and go on Twitter from my Blackberry. So if you need anything or have any questions, that is the best way to contact me.
In fact just the other day, I had an interesting conversation on Twitter about how an academic blog might be recognized (or not) in promotion criteria. I marked all those posts as favourites, so you can see them by clicking the “favourites” link in the right sidebar of my Twitter homepage.
If you decide to take the leap and sign up for Twitter send me a message (start with @jovanevery and I’ll see it even if I’m not following you yet) to say hi and I’ll follow you. You can also check out my “academics, etc.” list on Twitter though it’s a bit of a random collection.
Hopefully, my internet service will be back up and running again soon and normal service will resume.
