Coaching

You can survive and thrive in academia!

Academic Writing Studio logoYou got into this profession because you think it is important. You have important contributions to make.

It’s a demanding job. It can be difficult to juggle your myriad responsibilities and to keep your focus on what’s really important in the face of the immediate demands. The changes in higher education over the past several years have made this even more difficult.

I offer both individual and small group coaching to support you with whatever challenges you are facing.

My practice is responsive to your needs. Many of my clients are neurodivergent; I suspect I am too. I help you clarify what you hope to achieve and identify strategies that might work well for you.If you’re not sure, you can book a free consult here.

Write Your Book!

Small Group Coaching for Book Writers

There is something almost magical about facing common challenges as part of a group. This 12-week group coaching programme for those writing scholarly books helps you make and keep a commitment to yourself to work on your book.

Regular meetings make it easier to try things, knowing that if it doesn’t work out as you hoped, there will be coaching support to figure out why and what you might try instead.

The next groups start on 22 and 23 September.

Confidence Boost

Would you benefit from talking through a challenge with someone else, and getting some help figuring out what to do?

Whether that’s making a decision, or figuring out how to ask for support from someone else, you don’t need ongoing support but one session would really help.

I call this service a Confidence Boost, because it often involves something that feels vulnerable and I can help you feel more confident about how to face that, even if there is still uncertainty.

Guide for the Journey

Regular individual coaching over several months helps you identify strategies, adjust as you go along, and sustain your motivation and commitment over longer periods. This coaching is responsive to what’s happening for you, providing support when things go awry so you can stay on track or make difficult decisions.

Whether you are returning from maternity leave, starting a new job or role, dealing with a new diagnosis, or just want things to be different than they are, I might be able to help.
