A little while ago I got involved in a conversation about writing on Twitter (as you do). I suggested that people seem to associate being a good writer with producing good writing with relatively few drafts. This can lead to a lot of frustration. I summed up by saying “good writers are just those who accept that it takes several drafts to get publishable prose”.
Someone asked if she could have that on a plaque to put above her desk.
